William W. Bos and Anthony H. Speier III joined the Houston office of law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP, the firm said July 1, noting that the Houston office opened in April. Bos and Speier III are transactional lawyers, the firm added.

Previously, Bos worked at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, while Speier III worked at Baker Botts LLP, also in Houston, the firm noted.

“Will and Anthony are highly respected attorneys with significant experience on complex transactions in the energy sector, and we are excited to add them to the dynamic team we have assembled in Houston,” said Jeffrey C. Hammes, chairman of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee.

Bos specializes in energy sector finance, including private-equity funds, Kirkland said.

Speier III specializes in energy sector-related deals, including acquisitions and divestitures, both onshore and offshore, Kirkland added.

Bos has a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, the firm said.

Speier III has a law degree from Tulane University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University, the firm added.

Both have been featured in Chambers USA and Super Lawyers, the firm noted.

“We have been building our team in Houston over the last few months, and Will and Anthony are two important pieces of that puzzle. They bring exceptional experience on asset-level transactions and energy financing that adds depth to our transactional team, and share our enthusiasm and energy for making the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis a success,” said Andy Calder, a corporate partner in the office.
