Production casing has been set at a workover by Springfield, Ill.-based Bi-Petro Inc. in Shelby County, Ill. According to IHS, #1-B Wittenburg is targeting oil pay in Edgewood. It is in Section 36-11n-5e and was deepened to 3,420 ft with 5 1/2-in. casing set on bottom. The original hole was drilled in 1983 to a total depth of 2,250 ft in McCloskey. Some oil shows were encountered at an unreported depth. Oil production in this part of Illinois comes from wells in Stewardson and Stewardson East fields.
