BHP Billiton Ltd. (NYSE: BHP) appointed Tony Cudmore president of corporate affairs, the company said Jan. 14, noting that Cudmore begins the role March 3. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, the company added. He will join the group management committee, the company added.
Cudmore replaces Karen Wood in the role, the company said.
Cudmore worked at ExxonMobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM), from 2001-2012. Most recently, he led international corporate brand communications and Asia-Pacific government relations. Through the years he was also manager for corporate public affairs and media relations, the company said.
Although he was previously based in Dallas for ExxonMobil during 2006, Cudmore has been in Melbourne since Nov. 2012, the company said.
