State agencies in New Mexico and North Dakota are offering acreage through separate lease auctions, according to EnergyNet, which has been retained to handle the sales.

New Mexico is accepting sealed bids and auctioning a total of 26 tracts of acreage in multiple counties covering roughly 6,300 acres.

In North Dakota, more than 22,000 net acres are available for lease. The state auction includes two tracts located in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Potential buyers can register and prequalify for bidding on EnergyNet’s website. Instructions and user guides are available for online government lease sales.

New Mexico

The New Mexico State Land Office is selling lease 13 tracts covering 3,311.98 acres through a sealed-bid offering.

The acreage is located in Chaves, Eddy, Lea and Roosevelt counties. Offers are due by 9:30 a.m. CT Jan. 17.

In a separate auction, the state is also offering for lease 13 tracts covering 3,075.22 acres in Chaves, Lea and Roosevelt. Bids are currently being accepted and will begin closing at 11:30 a.m. CT Jan. 17.

North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Trust Lands is offering for lease 231 tracts covering 34,547.86 gross (22,047.52 net) acres leasehold acres.

Two of the tracts are located in Mount Pleasant Municipality in Saskatchewan, Canada, but are subject to North Dakota state regulations. The remaining tracts are in Billings, Bottineau, Burke, Divide, Dunn, Golden Valley, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Renville and Stark counties, N.D.

Bidding starts Jan. 31 and closes from 8 a.m. to 4:46 p.m. CT Feb. 7.
