State agencies in Colorado and New Mexico are offering roughly 60 square miles of acreage through separate lease auctions, according to EnergyNet, which has been retained to handle the sales.
Beginning Nov. 8, New Mexico will begin accepting bids for 13 tracts of mineral acreage.
In Colorado, nearly 35,000 net mineral acres are available for lease, including contiguous positions in the Niobrara Shale.
Potential buyers can register and prequalify for bidding on EnergyNet’s website. Instructions and user guides are available for online government lease sales.

Colorado
The Colorado State Land Board is offering 75 tracts covering 34,772.39 net mineral acres for lease.
The acreage is in seven Colorado counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Elbert, La Plata, Lincoln, Morgan and Weld.
The Weld acreage is within the Denver-Julesburg (D-J) Basin and includes two contiguous groups of tracts, each with at least 2,500 net acres.
Operators in the remaining six counties have filed drilling permits that mostly target the Niobrara and Codell.
Bidding opens at 9 a.m. CT Nov. 10, and closes at 9 a.m. CT Nov. 17.
New Mexico
The New Mexico State Land Office is offering for lease 13 tracts covering 3,391.87 net mineral acres.
The acreage is located in Lea and Rio Arriba counties.
Bidding opens at 9:06 a.m. CT Nov. 8, and closes at 9:06 a.m. CT Nov. 15.
