Houston-based Cadre Services Inc. has acquired 850 acres near Voca, Texas, from an undisclosed seller for an undisclosed price to construct a sand-processing plant and mine the property.
The property will produce frac-sand materials to enhance production of oil and gas wells. General manager Matt Stafford will lead the operation, which will be capable of producing 3,000 tons per day of API quality frac-sand proppants. Construction is expected to be completed by year-end.
Frac–sand proppants are hard, spherical particles that are mixed with a fluid and pumped into wells at very high pressure.
Cadre Services president Maury Dumba says, “Demand for high-quality frac-sand proppants has outpaced supply as reserves have declined and oil and gas drilling has increased. The material from this new facility will significantly increase the supply of proppant, positioning Cadre as a key player in this market. This acquisition and green-field development complements our existing line of products and services and is in line with our vision and strategic growth in specific areas of interest.”
Cadre Service provides oilfield services in Texas and Louisiana including oilfield, pipeline, pump and fabrications services.
