An appraisal test on Chevron Corp.'s Anchor prospect on Green Canyon Block 807 has hit 694 net ft of oil pay. The #2 (BP) OCS G31752 encountered pay in a Lower Tertiary Wilcox Trend find. The total depth was not disclosed. The Anchor discovery, #2 OCS G31752, encountered 690 net ft of pay in multiple Lower Tertiary Wilcox sands. Total depth is 33,749 ft. According to the Houston-based company, complete appraisal of the field will require further delineation wells and technical studies. Chevron has already filed exploration plans to drill numerous additional appraisal tests on Block 762 (OCS G25198) and Block 806 (OCS G31751). Chevron operates Anchor and holds a 55%interest.
