Apache Corp. (APA) reorganized its operating regions and made key changes to leadership, the company said June 1. There are now three new super-regions, with two in North America--the Permian Region and the Houston Region.

Apache's Egypt Region, North Sea Region and Gulf of Mexico Region will form the International and Offshore Region.

The Houston Region will consolidate operational activities for the Eagle Ford, Anadarko Basin, Texas Panhandle and Canadian properties into one region. The Canadian properties will continue to be operated out of the Calgary, Alberta, office.

The Permian Region still includes the Midland Basin and the Central Basin Platform. This region will still operate out of the Midland, Texas, office. The Delaware Basin’s management will be in San Antonio.

Opening the Houston region resulted in the closure of the Tulsa, Okla., office. Many Tulsa employees were relocated, and Apache said this will consolidate employee expertise in a single office location.

The company recently repositioned its portfolio, emphasizing growth in North America and free cash flow generation in Egypt and the North Sea, after A&D transactions over the past five years. A more integrated super-region structure will reduce redundancies and increase operational efficiency, the company said.
