Great Western Oil & Gas Co. has appointed former Samson Resources Co. executives to its team.

Rich Frommer was named as president and CEO of Great Western. Jay Smith was named senior vice president engineering. Steve Stacy was named senior vice president land.

The former Samson Resources executives join Great Western after completion of the successful sale of Samson assets for US $7.2 billion to KKR & Co. LP. The group has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, according to the release.
