Duma Energy (OTCBB: DUMA) announced the appointment of John E. Brewster Jr. and S. Chris Herndon as additional independent directors to the board. This action brings the total number of directors to five, including two insiders, and now three independents.
Brewster is a distinguished oil and gas professional with an extensive and diversified background covering more than 36 years. Currently, he serves as an independent consultant and attorney to various clients within the energy sector. Beginning in 1975, Brewster served as legal counsel for the Oklahoma Securities Commission, a state agency with oversight for securities registration and enforcement in Oklahoma. From 1977 to 1980, he served as vice president and exploration coordinator for Santa Fe Minerals Inc. and was on the board of directors of Santa Fe Coal Co.
From 1980-84, Brewster served on the board of directors and was executive vice president and chief operating officer for Odyssey Energy Inc. From 1984-87, he served as chief executive officer and a director of Trafalgar House Oil and Gas Inc.
Brewster is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where he earned his juris doctorate, master of business administration, and bachelor of business administration degrees. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and numerous oil and gas industry associations.
Herndon is an experienced financial and management professional with more than 30 years of experience. Currently, he serves as partner of Cyrus Partners. Beginning in 2002-11, Herndon served as chief financial officer and partner of AppOne. From 1983 to 1994, he served as chief financial officer and controller of Duer Wagner and Co., and oil and gas operator in Texas.
Herndon is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where he earned his bachelor of business administration and accounting, after which he became a certified public accountant in 1985. He is actively involved with several charities locally and internationally.
