Caprock Oil Inc. (OTC: ROKO) appointed Steven H. Mikel as its president and CEO, the company said June 5.

He replaced D. Hughes Watler Jr. as CEO, Caprock added, noting that Watler is the CFO and served as CEO since April 2013.

Mikel has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry’s financial and operating sectors, the company said.

Previously, from 2004 to 2011, he was president and CEO of various Chroma companies funded through private-equity, Caprock said. He was also president and CEO of Southern Mineral Corp. until its merger, from 1995 to 2001, the company said.

He has a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from Syracuse University, and an MBA from the University of Connecticut, Caprock said.
