Continental Resources Inc., Enid, Okla., (NYSE: CLR) reports the four wells recently completed in the northern portion of its North Dakota Bakken acreage have a combined output of 2,194 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Continental chief executive Harold Hamm says Omar 1-1H in Williams County, North Dakota, flowed at an average rate of 1,126 barrels of oil equivalent per day from the formation during a seven-day production period test. Omar 1-1H was drilled as a single lateral on 1,280-acre spacing. Continental has a 41% working interest in the well.
Also in the northern portion of Continental’s North Dakota acreage, the company completed three wells targeting the Middle Bakken zone: Bliss 1-16H (54% working interest) in Divide County; Skar 1-21H (54% working interest) in Divide County; and Overlee 1-30H (54% working interest) in Burke County for average rates of 476, 394 and 198 barrels of oil equivalent per day in their production tests. The three wells were completed as single laterals on 1,280-acre spacing.
Hamm says Continental is operating 10 rigs in the North Dakota Bakken, with six targeting the Three Forks/Sanish formation, which is typically found 50 to 125 feet below the Middle Bakken zone.
Continental has operations in the Rocky Mountain, Midcontinent and Gulf Coast. JAS
