Crosstex Energy LP, Dallas, (Nasqaq: XTEX) has joined the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council, which provides information about gas drilling and production in the Barnett.

Crosstex joins Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City (NYSE: CHK); Dale Resources LLC, Dallas; Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City (NYSE: DVN); EnCana Corp., Calgary (NYSE: ECA); EOG Resources Inc., Houston, (NYSE: EOG); Forest Oil Corp., Denver, (NYSE: FST);  XTO Energy Inc., Fort Worth ( NYSE: XTO), Axia Land Services LLC, Fort Worth,  and Quicksilver Resources Inc., Fort Worth (NYSE: KWK).

Crosstex owns and operates about 700 miles of gathering and transmission pipeline in North Texas, three cryogenic processing plants and multiple amine-treating plants. Plans are to begin building a fourth processing plant later this year.
