Aeroquest International Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario, (Toronto: AQL) has been served by Aurora, Ontario-based Geotech Ltd., Geotech Airborne Ltd. and Geo Equipment Manufacturing Ltd. with a statement of claim filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

The plaintiffs' claim includes C$50 million dollars in general damages and C$1 million dollars in punitive damages from Aeroquest, three of its subsidiaries and another party for an alleged breach of contractual undertakings and misappropriation of certain confidential information. The claim relates to the activities of a former employee of Geotech during the course of his employment with Aeroquest and certain undertakings given by the employee and Aeroquest in connection therewith.

Aeroquest management reports this claim is completely without merit and intends to defend the claim, including the basis of the claim and the amounts being sought. In its defense, Aeroquest will be seeking, among other remedies, full recovery of its legal costs from the plaintiffs. SJP
