The Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission reports 16 well completions and 24 new permits for the Fayetteville shale.
            

The commission reports that no initial production rates have been released by the companies involved.
            

Of the completions, Southwestern Energy Co., Houston, (NYSE: SWN) reported 10; Petrohawk Energy Corp., Houston, (NYSE: HK) had three; Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City (NYSE: CHK) had two; and Storm Cat Energy Corp., Denver, (Amex: SCU) one.
            

The breakdown by area shows Van Buren County with six, Conway County with six and four in White County.
            

Of the 24 new permits, Southwestern Energy has 19 with nine in Van Buren, six in Conway, three in White and one in Cleburne County.  Chesapeake Energy has the remaining five with four in Cleburne and one in Van Buren. JAS
