Providence Drills Exploratory Wells in TX, Says Further Assessment Needed

Published May 18, 2009

Providence Resources Inc., Austin, Texas, (OTCBB: PVRS) says it has completed drilling the Carson 10-1 and Carson 12-1 exploratory wells to the Ellenberger reservoir interval in Val Verde County, Texas.

Providence says that despite evidence of natural gas to surface for each well, logs confirmed that the targeted formations were not wet and gas shows and reservoir fracture porosity were found throughout both Ellenberger intervals.

Houston-based Fairfield Industries has been contracted to provide a 3D inversion dataset to better define the seismic properties surrounding the wells as well as update the total prospect potential, and McGinley and Associates Inc. is evaluating log data.

Providence chief executive officer Gil Burciaga says, “Although we remain cautious in evaluating the immediate outcome of our drilling efforts, we are looking forward to the results of ongoing assessments as Providence plans its next steps forward.”

Providence is engaged in exploring for hydrocarbon reserves underlying 16,184 gross acres in Val Verde County, Texas.
