American Petro-Hunter Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz., (OTCBB: AAPH) says completion preparations for #1 Lutters Well in Trego County, Kan., are under way.
The operator, Wichita, Kan.-based S&W Oil & Gas LLC, has installed 5.5 casing and cement, and American Petro-Hunter says arrangements have been made for the arrival of pumping equipment. A completion rig is scheduled to arrive at the site around June 10.
Production from the well, which is part of the Poston prospect, is expected to begin in mid-June.
Lutters #1 Well, which was drilled to a total depth of 4,400 feet, targets Mississippi dolomite. During drill stem tests, both gas and 35-degree light oil were encountered; the well will be completed as an oil well. American Petro-Hunter says potential production could be between 35 and 100 barrels per day; full development of the field could produce up to 400 barrels of oil per day.
American Petro-Hunter, which has a 25% working interest in the Poston prospect, says it will announce its proposed drilling schedule for additional well locations in the prospect after it meets with S&W later this week.
