Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. (NYSE: KOG) shareholders will get zero premium for agreeing to sell to Whiting Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: WLL) The real payout might be down the road, Bloomberg said July 15.

The $4 billion stock swap values Kodiak shares at a discount to their average price in the 20 days leading up to July 14’s deal announcement.
