Brent Rises on Spread Trading; WTI Inches Higher

NYMEX-traded crude futures ended with fractional gains on Wednesday, after spending some time in negative territory. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for March delivery settled up 19¢ at US$97.38 per barrel (/bbl), after topping $98/bbl in early trade. U.S. crude drew some support from record heating-oil demand because of ongoing severe cold in key-consuming parts of the nation.
