Description

Pioneer Oil Co. is preparing to drill a 6,000-ft deeper pool wildcat in Washington County, Ill. The Dubois Southeast Field venture, #1 Kreger, is in Section 36-3s-1w and will target oil pays in Potosi. According to IHS Markit, Dubois Southeast Field is about one mile to the southwest in nearby Perry County. The field was opened in 2000 and wells in the field yield crude from Benoist at 1,412 ft, Aux Vases at 1,454 ft and Rosiclare at 1,594 ft. Within two miles to the east is Pioneer Oil’s #1 Janowski in Section 32-3s-1e. It was last reported waiting on completion tools, and was drilled in late 2016 to 5,475 ft with production casing set to an unreported depth. Targeting oil pays in Potosi, the Illinois Basin venture was permitted to 6,000 ft. Lawrenceville, Ill-based Pioneer Oil and MKE Producing have permitted and drilled several other tests farther to the east in Jefferson County.
